THE VINTAGE PRINTWORKS

A Museum of Letterforms and Typography

The Vintage Printworks in Kirkcudbright will be re-opening SOON!

The vintage Printworks is a privately funded independent museum based in the town of Kirkcudbright in southwest Scotland.
We are home to a working letterpress printing studio with a collection of working printing presses from as early as 1650, typewriters, duplicators, printed image works and a large collection of vintage typefaces.

We provide print and design services, guided tours, workshops, education, work placements and opportunities for those interested in typography and the history or use of letterforms in graphic design.

Building a Printworks
ABOUT THE PRINTWORKS

What started as a fascination with the art of letterforms turned into having a printing press in my garage and then to building a Vintage Printworks in the historic artist's town of Kirkcudbright!
