THE VINTAGE
PRINTWORKS

A Museum of Letterforms and Typography

The Vintage Printworks opened in Kirkcudbright for a short period between July and November 2025.
However due to unforeseen circumstances we had to temporarily close down. More about that below!
We will be re-opening early in 2026!

The museum is now taking the opportunity to embrace a period of re-planning, re-fitting and acquisition.
Behind the scenes collections are being organised and expanded, items are being restored and cared for,
exhibitions are being designed and visitor engagement is being researched to benefit more people in more ways.

The story so far...

BUILDING A PRINTWORKS

What started as a fascination with the art of letterforms turned into having a printing press in my garage and then to building a Vintage Printworks in the historic artist's town of Kirkcudbright!

WHAT'S HAPPENING NEXT

We're now planning some major changes, including a complete refit of the building and a greater focus on the museum elements of the printworks. We are creating some exciting new displays.

We are also planning to create a micro venue for curated content upstairs at the printworks. We will be delivering a schedule of events including talks, demonstrations, workshops and films.
